Visits From College Representatives

For college representatives that would like to visit Oakland Tech, please find us on RepVisits.

What is a Visit From a College Rep?

College rep visits are a great way to get to know a school you are interested in. Admissions counselors from colleges and universities around the country come to Oakland Tech to inform students about their specific school. These reps can give you the inside scoop on what they are looking for when reading applications and can answer pressing questions you may have about the school. Another benefit of coming to the college rep visits is getting exposure early to narrow down your college list by senior year. Grades 11&12 are encouraged to come.

How Do I Know When College Representatives Will Be at Oakland Tech?

Check the Bulldog Daily Announcement slide deck (located under 'Links' in ParentSquare / StudentSquare) and/or the othsconnections Instagram page and/or your Google Classroom frequently as visits are sometimes scheduled with short notice.

How to Get Excused From Class to Attend?

Plan ahead and tell your teacher BEFORE the day of the college rep visit. On the day of the rep visit, you must check in with your teacher to get marked present. Once marked present, have your teacher write you a blue pass to the College & Career Center.
